(Hosting-NewsWire.com, September 10, 2012 ) Richmond Hill,Cananda -- According to The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), home sales in Canada nationwide declined by 4.4 percent in June, 2012 compared to the same time frame one year ago, though some areas did see an uptick in sales -- Greater Toronto (7.9%), followed by Calgary (5.6%), Greater Montreal (2.7%), the Fraser Valley (2.6%), and Greater Vancouver (1.7%).
These numbers indicate that while the housing market may be rebounding slowly, it’s never been more important than to work with a realtor who is trustworthy and experienced. In the Vaughan and Thornhill areas, realtor Ihsan Said and her team at HomeLife Victory Realty Inc. bring several years of expertise and accumulated knowledge to every real estate transaction they finalize.
On her new website, Ms. Said says, “If you’re looking for a new home, and you are looking for a real estate agent in Vaughan, or you’re looking for a http://thornhillhomes4u.ca/">real estate agent in Thornhill, then my know-how and experience will help you find the perfect home for your individual needs. If you’re thinking of selling, and looking for a real estate agent in Thornhill or need a real estate agent knowledgeable about the Thornhill area, I will provide you with a free home evaluation based on current market trends.”
Nationally, the Canadian trend recently has been a slight decrease in prices for home sales, according to CREA. The actual, non-seasonally adjusted national average price for homes sold in June 2012 was $369,339, down 0.8 per cent from June 2011.
Seven out of 10 local markets saw slight increases, but the national average price slid downward thanks to compositional factors – most prominently fewer sales in Vancouver recently compared to stronger levels last year.
To offset these challenges, Ms. Said and her team include several professionals to assist sellers and buyers, including mortgage brokers to help consumers get the best mortgage rates, home staging and interior design to add curb appeal, and a renovations contractor who can assist new buyers with improvements to their new dream home.
Ms. Said understands how difficult the market can be for those selling their homes, and offered five simple tips for getting a house ready for listing:
• Make sure your front door and entranceway are in tip-top shape. Maybe the front door needs a coat of paint. Fresh, potted flowering plants on the porch are another nice, welcoming touch for potential buyers to experience.
• Dirty vinyl siding can be washed with mild soap and water, while the gutters should be cleaned of leaves and other debris.
• If the garage door has finish that is dull or faded, consider adding a coat of paint. And make sure the garage door opener and remote control are in working order.
• Landscaping is another improvement where a few touch-ups go a long way, though not all homes need professional service. Start with the obvious: mowing the lawn, spreading weed and feed regularly, spraying for weeds that might pop up in cracks along the sidewalk or drive, and get rid of yard rubbish as soon as possible.
• Keep your windows clean, washing them inside and out.
