"We support education opportunities for our community and those wanting to be prepared for misfortunes that life presents. We aim to help prepare individuals for any personal misfortune, or natural disaster. In time, we hope to build on this; if one is prepared himself, then he is one step closer to being prepared to help others. We hope to regain a sense of local responsibility and preparation in the event of any situation that might overwhelm our community's safety & well-being. That paints a broad portrait of our ultimate goal," says one of the organizers of the NW Preparedness Expo.
The featured speakers for the Northwest Preparedness Expo include John Jacob Schmidt on emergency communications, Sean Mitzel on personal defense and permaculture, Dr. David Pruett on wound care and suture technique class, Patrice Lewis on off-grid living, Former Military Samuel Culper on intelligence and security topics, and Ranger Rick on Disaster Medicine. The food vendors particpating the event are Lucy's LVA Snack Shack, Lunchbox and Smoked Freedom. On the other hand, there's another group in the US called Victory Gardens that also promotes homesteading options and emergency preparedness through Heirloom Survival Seeds.
The first annual Northwest Preparedness Expo was celebrated last May 2nd and 3rd, 2014 at the Walter Clore Center in Prosse, Washington.
