(Hosting-NewsWire.com, July 28, 2013 ) Suffolk, UK -- SEOmers recently released a new infographic on the importance of online visibility. According to the infographic, the latter is simply essential in today’s web driven market. In fact, 85% of consumers search for local businesses online. Sadly, 45% of UK small business owners do not have a website or blog for their respective companies. This makes it difficult for them to effectively market their products and services to mass audiences. Without strong or steady online visibility, companies are simply not tapping into potential opportunities for growth. During the first half of 2013, 43.5 million adults in the UK or 86% used the Internet in some form. This includes mobile phones, along with desktops and tablets. 33 million UK adults also accessed the Internet on a daily basis in 2012. According to the Office of National Statistics, this was more than double the 16 million users back in 2006. In terms of UK Internet users, 88% are males and 84% are females. Based on the infographic, the most popular activity for UK users is sending and receiving e-mails. In fact, this accounts for 73% of UK users that send and receive correspondence on a daily basis. An additional 48% of UK users are also active on the social media networks. When it comes to accessing the Internet in the UK, wireless and mobile devices continue to soar in popularity. In fact, 53% of UK users browse the Internet on mobile handsets. While 86% of users prefer Smartphones, 32% are split between tablets and gaming consoles. No matter which portals users prefer, they spend an average of 17 hours per week online. Back in 2012, 74.2% of the UK’s population went online at least once a month using home devices. They also utilized smartphones and tablets to access the web. While 85% of UK smartphone users search for local information online, 3/4ths of small and medium businesses do not have mobile websites. Without a strong mobile presence, these commercial entities are truly missing out on attracting and engaging new customers. According to recent research conducted by analytics SEO, 47% of business websites have little to no SEO. 70% of companies with less than 50 employees also have no or very basic levels of SEO. An additional 74% have no basic website analytics software for tracking site visits. This makes it hard to effectively monitor web traffic and recurring visits. While 0.6% of business websites are currently under construction, 12% of business sites are not even indexed in any search engine. Based on the research, only 3% of all business websites employ and entail advanced levels of SEO. While 82% of businesses have no HTML sitemap, 75% of businesses have no XML sitemap. An additional 69% of all businesses have no Robots.txt file configured. Due to poor or inadequate SEO strategies, 25% of businesses do not even show up on local search results.
