(Hosting-NewsWire.com, July 16, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- InfoGraphDesign.com recently released an entertaining info-graphic on the top five influential brands of 2013. With fascinating figures and stats, this informative piece is designed to educated readers on the power of global brands and marks. According to Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com Founder, “your brand is formed primarily, not by what your company says it about itself, but what the company does.” Truer words were never spoken about the global impact of brands on mass audiences.
When it comes to the business of branding, technology has truly bridged the gap between brand marketing and customers. In fact, technology has made it easy to effectively promote your brand, products, and services to existing and potential customers. With the advent of social media and networking, you can easily establish brand validity and awareness. This results in higher brand visibility, along with a strong identity and staying power.
Brand marketing can also capture the essence and allure of your company. This can generate leads, while ensuring recurring business and revenue. When it comes to attracting and engaging audiences, your brand’s persona must be original and unique. This opens the path to a wealth of new opportunities, along with potential for your brand to become a global powerhouse.
Based on the infographic, 84% of companies believe a clearly defined strategy is the key to achieving employer branding objectives. An additional 71% of employees say obtaining an adequate budget is their #1 challenge in managing an employer brand. 59% of companies also leverage their career websites for communicating the employer brand.
The infographic also states that 55% of employees believe it’s important that other people want to work for their employers. This cements the fact that certain businesses outshine the competition in terms of brand marketing, integration, and exposure. With the latter, over 44% of companies utilize social media networks to enhance their employer brands. An additional 18% of marketing departments and experts are responsible for their employer brand strategy and campaign.
As previously mentioned, there are certain brands that have achieved global recognition over the years. In fact, Millward Brown Optimor releases their Brands Research Poll results each year. These results, of course, highlight and showcase the most influential brands around the world. These brands are annually calculated and ranked by their global value. They also gauge the opinions of over 200 million consumers from 43 countries.
The following findings represent the 2013 calendar year. At the top of the list is Apple, which has a brand value of $185 billion. Its annual percent change is 1%, and there are currently over 401 Apple stores located across the globe. Founded on April 1, 1976, Apple now accounts for 39% of the U.S. Smartphone market. According to Computerworld, “brand is Apple’s secret weapon (with) its ability to innovate and remain relevant to consumer challenges in an increasingly fast-changing and competitive market.” Yahoo! Finance also says “even though Apple’s growth rate decreased by 95%, the tech giant’s brand value still increased by 1% from 2012 to a whopping $185 billion. In the last eight years, Apple’s value has increased 1,045%.”
At number two is one of the world’s most popular search engines, Google. While its brand value is $113.7 billion, its annual percent change is 5%. From June 2012 to March 2013, Google’s active users’ base grew by 33%. There are currently 359 million monthly active users, along with 13.7 billion monthly Google searches.

According to the infographic, IBM became the first ever company to secure these many patents within one year. While IBM is the second largest technology company in the world, it is world’s largest company in terms of revenue. On June 16 of this year, IBM proudly celebrated its 100th birthday. This is truly a milestone for IBM, which remains one of the most popular brands in the world today.
As one of the world’s most popular fast food chains, McDonald’s comes in at number four. With a brand value of $90.3 billion, its annual percent change is 5%. McDonald’s $27 billion in revenue also makes it the 90th largest economy in the world. With over 68 million customers served per day, McDonald’s feeds about 1% of the world’s population.
While at the bottom of the list, Coca Cola remains one of top beverages in the world. In fact, its mark and logo are universally recognized than any other brand in the world. Coca Cola’s brand value is at $78.4 billion, and its annual percentage change is at 6%. The red and white Coca-Cola logo is recognized by 94% of the world’s population. Out of the 33 non-alcoholic brands that generate over one billion dollars in revenue, Coca Cola owns 15 of them.
