(Hosting-NewsWire.com, May 14, 2013 ) East Sussex, UK -- According to new market research conducted by IDC Canada, the IT service sector grew by over $15 billion within the country in 2012.
The major companies within Canada's border are now turning to seek specialists within the IT sector to help them make sense of the often confusing portion of big business. Six out of every 10 stated cost was the main benefit for outsourcing quality IT, which showed to give a 35%
reduction in pricing, according to the IDC survey that reported on outsourcing over the span of last year.
The competitive advantage of accessing specialists with lower costs is high on the list of benefits of major companies, according the the IDC survey. Many IT work is still performed within Canada, but a growing amount of the work is being outsourced to companies that lie outside the borders.
The offshore firms now account for over $3 billion of the IT market in Canada, and the sub-section is rising each year by a 20% fold. Such companies are put in charge of handling everything from cheque processing to the large databases, IDC stated.
While there is nothing illegal about offshoring, the process does put some at unease, as more jobs for Canadian residents are being taken away in order to fulfill a business-first mentality. Canadian employers told the IDC that offshoring is a primary asset to the companies to keep Canada's export-driven economy outside the competitive reaches of the global market.
There are now report of the RBC terminating 45 employees, while sending work offshore, which sparked outrage over the job loss for citizens. Much of the anger was noted due to the allegations that the RBC supplier iGate Corp. used a federal foreign worker program to fill the position to train foreign replacements to undermine Canadian jobs.
RBC stated it does not hire temporary works and will work toward finding new jobs for the 45 displaced.
