(Hosting-NewsWire.com, August 23, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- In order to bring people closer to each other, Twitter founders Ev Williams and Biz Stone, have launched two new websites, Medium and Branch, each carrying different perspectives and purpose. The pair first impressed the world with the renowned online venture, Blogger, which they then followed with the 140-character experience known as Twitter. Twitter has proved to be a leading social networking website lately.
Both Medium and Branch, just like their previous site Twitter, are platforms where people can publish their pictures, articles and text and can share it with the world. Both ventures were created by The Obvious Corporation, Twitter founders’ San Francisco-based incubator fund.
According to the Guardian, the duo believes that both Medium and Branch will prove to be an ‘evolutionary leap’ in online sharing.
Medium contains collections of pictures, text or articles which appear in visual grid format with highest ranked posts on top of the list. Right now, the website is an invitational venture but soon it will enable the whole world to post and publish their own stuff on the website. Right now anyone who has a Twitter account can sign in to Medium using their Twitter credentials.
Williams said this about Medium:
“Medium is designed to allow people to choose the level of contribution they prefer. We know that most people, most of the time, will simply read and view content, which is fine. If they choose, they can click to indicate whether they think something is good, giving feedback to the creator and increasing the likelihood others will see it.”
Meanwhile, Branch is more like a dinner table where everyone is present and can see what you post and publish. The Twitter founder came up with the idea to bring the intimacy of a dinner table to bring people close enough so that they can communicate with each other as if they are sitting on the same table. By the looks of it, Branch seems more like a community based social networking website.
Just like Medium, Twitter users can sign in through their account and enjoy an in-depth conversation with their friends or community members. They can also invite other Twitter users or their followers to join Branch.
