(Hosting-NewsWire.com, March 30, 2014 ) Gulfport, MS -- JLM Security Products, a worldwide provider of innovative surveillance and security solutions, announces the release of three real-time GPS Tracking devices and a proprietary GPS tracking management platform, the GPS Track Manager. Upon reading the features and specifications, these products promise features that both consumers and business professionals have been wanting when it comes to personal, vehicle, asset, and fleet GPS tracking applications.
"This product is designed for consumers and professionals that demand high quality, accurate, and fast GPS tracking services that aren't a strain on their budget" said Jeff Monson, owner of JLM Security Products. "There are three versions of tracker - a portable rechargeable micro tracker, a tracker that plugs into and is powered by the On Board Diagnostics port on cars and light trucks 1996 and newer, and a hard wired device that is powered by a connection to the fuse box of any vehicle." Jeff also said, "There are a variety of tracking plans from which the end user to choose from based on their needs. I believe that our state-of-the-art tracking platform and service plan rates will make our trackers and GPS Track Manager platform the GPS solution of choice for both consumers and professionals for their personal, asset, and fleet tracking needs."
The portable GPS tracker operates about 2 weeks on average (depending on tracking plan and usage) powered by an internal rechargeable lithium battery pack. It's called the Micro Tracker because of it's size - only 2 x 3 x .75 inches. There are several accessories available for this tracker, such as a magnetic case, magnetic clip, external extended battery, hard wire kit, and 12V car adapter/charger. This tracker can be used on vehicles, assets, or even placed in your child's back pack so you can monitor her walk to and from school or where he's playing in the neighborhood. Many consumers use it to monitor their elderly family members as well. It has a panic button that, when pressed, will send an instant text message and/or email alert. This tracker can send updates back to the GPS Track Manager as periodic as every 10 minutes to as frequent as every 5 seconds.
The OBD GPS tracker connects directly to the OBD - On Board Diagnostics - port of any car or light truck manufactured after 1996. This tracker is powered by the vehicle's battery and can send updates back to the GPS Track Manager as periodic as every minute to as frequent as every 30 seconds.
The hard wired tracker connects to any vehicle's fuse box and is powered by the vehicle battery. It is a 3-wire connection, with one connecting to constant power in the fuse box, the second to the ignition sense connection in the fuse box, and the third to ground. The ignition sense connection enables the GPS Track Manager to send out text message and email alerts based on ignition on/off state. This tracker can send updates back to the GPS Track Manager as periodic as every minute to as frequent as every 30 seconds.
The GPS Track Manager software platform works in conjunction with Google Maps and Google Earth, allowing the user to see, in real time, the exact location of the tracking device overlaid on maps or satellite imagery. Each time the tracker reports to the GPS Track Manager, this location data is stored on the server so the user can go back and review the state of any of their trackers on any date, at any time. It also has the popular geofence feature where the user draws a virtual fence (up to 10) so that they can receive a text message and/or email alert when the device enters or exits this predefined area. This is the same technology used by law enforcement to enforce house arrests and restraining orders.
Of note, the platform provides a real-time display of tracker battery life/vehicle voltage (depending on the tracker) and a system that computes mileage and fuel usage reports - a big time saver for businesses that use vehicle mileage or fuel consumption as a tax deduction. It also has the capability of, depending on the tracker used, sending real-time text message and/or email geofence, speed, battery life, ignition, tow, and panic alerts.
