(Hosting-NewsWire.com, June 17, 2013 ) Tysons Corner, VA -- It's becoming increasingly apparent that there needs to be a synergy between backlinks and content. Context - relevancy and placement of content surrounding most links. Over the years, Google has tried to steer clear of mentioning negative SEO and that what others did, particularly with bad links, couldn’t hurt good sites’ rankings. Many of Internet marketers and SEO gurus knew that the opposite was true, but no one talked about it.
Then on March 14th, Google changed their guidelines from after claiming that nothing a competitor could do would harm a good ranking or have a website removed from its index. Now, the policy states that Google “works hard” to prevent other webmasters from being able to harm a website’s ranking and get it taken off of the index. Google also advises webmasters to contact a Google tech if they are concerned about another site linking to theirs.
To many SEO professionals, links that are out of your control may actually hurt you and that they are the ones who have to report bad links to Google. All the changes not named Panda and an influx of unnatural links messages have website managers and SEO specialists on the edge of their seats. While it is unlikely that strong domains can be seriously damaged, Google doesn’t mention that in its new guidelines. At the end of the day it is the unsuspecting that need protection.
