(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 06, 2013 ) Mullingar, Ireland -- According to a survey conducted in Australia, business owners are now starting to cut back on the cost of Christmas parties. Though the survey was conducted in Australia, the situation in the United Kingdom and Ireland is not that different.
That is why ChristmasBash.ie took an interest in the surveyÂ’s results. The leading events company in Ireland, Christmas Bash, is a company that organizes memorable company Christmas parties.
The survey conducted involved 122 entrepreneurs. Out of 122, 33% said that they will no longer have a company Christmas party. Customers might be disappointed too as 92% said that they will no longer have a Christmas event for their clients.
Although 67% will still be holding an office Christmas party, 80% of those business owners said that they will be cutting back on the usual budget for that particular event. The cut will be from 10% to 30% of what they used to allocate for the function.
An organizational psychologist and professor at the University of Sydney, Tim Sharp, said “the cost of killing the Christmas party needs to (be) measured against the cost to staff morale.” Christmas parties are, after all, the company’s way to thank employees. UK’s government knows that too and that is the reason why they launched a campaign to encourage business owners and bosses to hold company Christmas parties.
