(Hosting-NewsWire.com, October 09, 2012 ) Detroit, MI – Tim Yow, owner of http://YowSeo.com (http://YowSeo.com), gave a demonstration at the WordCamp Detroit 2012 event this past weekend. Many people create websites for their businesses without knowing how effective it is for their business’ bottom line. Google Analytics provides an efficient and effective way for website owners to see what is working and what is not.
WordCamp meets each year in the City of Detroit. At these events, the areas best speakers about using WordPress websites and marketing explain how to implement key ideas and share their different strategies.
Tim Yow (http://www.LinkedIn.com/in/timothyyow) remarked, “It is tough to improve what is not being measured, and Google Analytics provide many of those key measurements that website owners need to know how to improve their websites.”
Tim Yow Demonstrated Six (6) Ways to Activate Google Analytics in WordPress Websites
Many business owners are choosing to use WordPress platforms for their websites, which can benefit them. WordPress is powerful yet flexible enough to allow website owners to change information on their website without depending upon an often expensive and sometimes unreliable so-called professional webmaster.
On Saturday, October 6, 2012, the YowSeo owner Tim Yow gave a live demonstration about how to add Google Analytics to websites that use the WordPress platform. In fact, Tim demonstrated six (6) different ways to activate Google Analytics into a WordPress website.
YowSeo Owner Gave Key Tips to Improve Website Performance
Besides the demonstration, Tim Yow covered several key pieces of data to monitor to help website owners know their websites’ performances.
He mentioned Bounce Rate. Bounce Rate is the percentage of people who visit a website (visitors) who do not visit more than one (1) page within the website. Many people fear that a high bounce rate reflects poorly on a site, but sometimes the page might have a high bounce rate but also have a high conversion rate.
This means that specific website page is doing its job, converting visitors into sales, signups, voting, etc. In these cases, a website owner does not necessarily want that website visitor to view another page within the website.
However, Tim suggested one (1) way to help lower the bounce rate, “One good way to lower the bounce rate is to make sure all outbound links open in a new tab, especially links to social media pages.”
Tim also suggested ways to reduce exit rates on exit pages and landing pages. On exit pages, he informed the crowd, “On pages with high exit rates, check verbiage for anything that discourages continuing exploration (while on that particular website page).” He continued, “On pages with high exit rates, examine different ways to strengthen the 'call to action' on that page.”
Knowing that more people are using mobile devices to use the Internet, the YowSeo owner also suggested that website owners check for especially high bounce rates by checking to see how the site views on that type of device. It does not always look as good as it does on a device with a larger viewing area.
